The 2021 Gold Cup, the tournament that crowns the best national team in the region of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), has handed down its group stage verdicts. The top two teams in each group advanced to the single-elimination knockouts.
Qatar, a special guest team from Asia, claimed the final quarterfinal berth by finishing atop Group D after a convincing win over Honduras. The other seven quarterfinal spots go to CONCACAF national teams that will all be contending for World Cup berths beginning in September.
Among those teams is Mexico, which is still on track to defend its 2019 Gold Cup title, and the U.S. men’s national team which is expected to challenge El Tri for the title. The two countries have split the last 10 editions of the Gold Cup tournament. Canada will hope to take the next step in the event's knockout rounds and El Salvador is playing some of the best soccer of the competition.
The single-elimination quarterfinals and semifinals will lead up to the championship match in Las Vegas on Sunday, Aug. 1. Updated group standings, results and match schedules follow below. Teams that were even on points during the group stage were separated by the tiebreakers outlined in the tournament regulations:

- Points in matches between the tied teams
