Most of the major football leagues in the world do not stage matches on Christmas Day.
While Boxing Day is something of an English institution, Italy's Serie A continues without a winter pause and the Africa Cup of Nations runs for the next month, December 25 remains something of a quiet day when it comes to soccer games.
Still, there are a few professional competitions taking place for those determined to get their football fix.

Football games on Christmas Day: Biggest soccer matches today
There are at least a few major leagues playing matches on December 25, 2025.
The biggest is probably the Saudi Pro League, which is staging three matches today, including Al Ettifaq away to Al Riyadh.
