Canada's schedule, scores: How to watch, live stream FIFA Women's World Cup 2019 image

The 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup is upon us, and Canada enters the tournament with as good a shot at competing for the title as ever before.

Ranked No. 5 in the world, the Canadians boast a mix of savvy veterans and exciting youngsters that form a well-balanced, cohesive team under head coach Kenneth Heiner-Møller. Led by star striker Christine Sinclair, Canada will be favoured to top Group E and advance to the knockout stage.

A prominent side-story in the tournament will be Sinclair, who heads to her sixth World Cup just three career international goals behind retired American forward Abby Wambach for the all-time record. As always, the 35-year-old would rather the attention be placed on her teammates, but all eyes will be on Sinclair as the games get underway.

Canada's best result in the competition is a fourth-place finish in 2003. The opportunity to get on the World Cup podium for the first time is an enticing one, and should be seen as attainable for a Canadian national team that Sinclair calls the best she's ever played on.

Canada’s scores, TV schedule at FIFA Women's World Cup 2019

They'll play a round robin to determine seeding, followed by a single-elimination knockout stage involving the top team teams from each group plus the four best third-place finishers. Canada has been drawn into Group E, which also includes Cameroon, New Zealand and Netherlands.
