Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness shares details about Nicolas Jackson's contract image

Bayern Munich had a frustrating summer transfer window where they got rejected multiple times and a couple of times they failed to reach agreement over priority signings.

They eventually signed four players including Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea with an obligation to buy on the deadline day.

The 24-year-old forward has moved to Bavaria on one of the most expensive loan deals in football history as Bayern are reportedly paying €16.5m ($19.3m) loan fee for his services.

The German champions also have a massive fee obligation but according to honorary president Uli Hoeness, the Bavarians are extremely well placed as he reveals the critical contract details of the loan deal.

"It's not a €16.5 million loan fee, because the player and his agent are contributing €3 million, so that leaves €13.5 million," Hoeness told in an interaction with Sport1. "And there will definitely not be a permanent contract. That only happens if he plays 40 games from the start. He will never do that."

It will be interesting to see how Jackson integrates into Vincent Kompany's system at Bavaria as he is mostly thought to be Harry Kane's backup upfront while he could also play alongside the Englishman in a two-striker formation.

What did Hoeness say about Bayern Munich's transfers this summer?

While many fans and even players felt that Bayern Munich lacked depth in their roster heading into the 2025/26 season, Hoeness feels the Bavarians have a strong squad and are the winners of the transfer window.

Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich

He admits that the signing of Florian Wirtz could have helped the Bavarians, but he isn't ready to pay crazy transfer fee like Newcastle United did to lure Nick Woltemade out of Stuttgart.

"The most important thing in the business is to say 'no' to these crazy excesses," Hoenes said. "At some point, these sheikhs will also have had enough. This is a good transfer year and we are the real winner of this transfer summer because we have a team that is very strong. The world has changed dramatically in terms of transfer issues."

He also spoke about three injured players in Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito and denoted them as new signings who will be available for selection from November.

"We must not forget that there's still a transfer window in January. We would have enough money for that. We're also getting three 'new signings' for free in November with Musiala, Davies and Ito. There's also the young players who have to play."

Despite all the differences in opinion about squad depth, the German champions will be looking to retain their Bundesliga crown whilst also pushing for the DFB Pokal and Champions League titles this season.
