Bayern Munich are determined to avoid uncertainty around Harry Kane’s future as sporting director Max Eberl revealing the club intends to begin talks about next steps with England captain.
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 and has since transformed the Bundesliga champions with a staggering return of 100 goals and 29 assists in just 104 appearances which included winning the European Golden Shoe during his debut campaign and firing the club back to the top of German football.
The 32- year-old striker remains under contract until 2027 with a clause set at around €65m [$76m] becoming valid in 2026 but Bayern are eager to secure his services further despite Tottenham retaining a first refusal option should Kane decide to leave.
"Harry is a leading player for us, he wanted to come to Bayern because he really likes to play here and win trophies.
He wants to continue for a long time so we're going to talk about the next steps," he said [via ESPN]

"The mixture in the squad is important. If you have that mix then you can keep older players with high quality for longer in your squad and Harry seems not to be old at all. He has that quality on the pitch."
Kane’s 100th Bundesliga goal on Saturday after only 104 games set a new benchmark in Europe’s elite competitions by becoming the fastest player to achieve that tally, surpassing the 105-match records previously held by Erling Haaland at Manchester City and Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
