Premier League leaders Arsenal will have their title credentials put to the test as they take on defending champions Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Thursday in a midweek showdown before the page turns to the FA Cup on the weekend.
The Gunners sit five points clear at the top of the table above second-placed Manchester City, who have drawn three straight league matches, while Aston Villa are level with City on points in third.
Despite Arne Slot's rough first half of the season, Liverpool have crawled their way back up into fourth, although they now face a nine-point gap between themselves and the two above them thanks to a pair of consecutive draws of their own.

Arsenal vs. Liverpool live updates, highlights from Premier League match
1 hour 45 mins to kick: Arsenal have lost just twice all season long across any competition, but they've been even more difficult to play at home.
The Gunners have not lost yet this season at The Emirates, with their last home defeat coming back on May 3 against Bourneouth in the 35th game of the previous league campaign. In fact, they've only suffered one of their five adverse results at home, coming in the 1-1 draw to Man City back in September.
The players are well aware of how important protecting the home ground is in this title chase.
💬 “It’s a massive game. We need the Emirates to be on it again. We’re unbeaten at home, we need to go out there and give it everything we’ve got.”

2 hours to kickoff: Liverpool may have been pegged back by a brilliant last-second goal against Fulham last time out, but Cody Gakpo enjoyed deputising at striker. He scored a 94th-minute go-ahead goal that, at the time, seemed to surely be the winner.
The Dutchman will likely have to play that role again today unless Hugo Ekitike can prove fit enough to start.

“I enjoyed it. It was a long time ago for me that I played there. It was good. I can do whatever the team asks me to do and I will do whatever I can to be the best version of myself and to try to help the team as much as I can.” Pic.twitter.com/Z9EDlD3dJ2

Arsenal vs. Liverpool lineups, team news
The Arsenal injury burden appears to be lifting. Kai Havertz is expected to be on his way back to match fitness, possibly even available in the squad today, while Riccardo Calafiori could return from his muscle injury this weekend.
Cristhian Mosquera probably needs another few weeks but could return by the end of the month, and Max Dowman is also likely back from his ankle issue in the next match or two. Unless something new crops up, the Gunners could find themselves almost fully fit once Champions League football returns in just over a week.
Arsenal projected starting lineup (4-3-3): Raya (GK) — Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie — Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice — Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard
Arsenal subs: (Lineups released one hour prior to kickoff)
The Liverpool attacking options have been whittled down thanks to a long-term injury to Alexander Isak and muscle fatigue for Hugo Ekitike, leaving just Cody Gakpo available to play as the No. 9. Mohamed Salah is unavailable due to AFCON participation.
The midfield is thinned by absences for Wataru Endo and Stefan Bajcetic, while young defender Giovanni Leoni continues his recovery from a torn ACL.
Liverpool projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Alisson (GK) — Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez — Gravenberch, Mac Allister — Frimpong, Szoboszlai, Wirtz — Gakpo
