Manchester United appear to be closing in on their second major summer signing.

After wrapping up a deal for Matheus Cunha, the Red Devils are now reportedly "on the verge" of landing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford — even with rivals trying to sneak in at the last moment.

With manager Ruben Amorim looking to add more firepower up front, Mbeumo has been one of United’s top targets.

The Cameroon international has impressed over the past season, scoring 20 goals and grabbing 8 assists for the Bees in the Premier League. That kind of output doesn’t go unnoticed, especially at a club desperate for goals.

United made their intentions clear early on. A big contract worth around £250,000 a week was reportedly offered, and talks have been going on behind the scenes for weeks.

Now, according to reports from Spain (via Fichajes), those discussions have reached a breakthrough.

How much Man Utd might pay to sign Bryan Mbeumo?

It’s claimed that negotiations between United, Brentford, and Mbeumo’s camp have “intensified” and are now at an advanced stage.

While the transfer fee hasn’t been finalized, it is expected to hover around the £60 million mark — Brentford’s asking price after rejecting United’s earlier offer.

Tottenham had shown interest, especially after appointing Thomas Frank, Mbeumo’s boss at Brentford. But reports say Spurs have dropped out of the race, calling the deal “impossible.” That leaves United with a free shot at the target — and they don’t want to miss.

Amorim has given the green light. With Cunha already through the door and another attacker nearly set, United fans might just be dreaming of a sharper-looking frontline next season.
