Only a few weeks remain in the summer transfer window and there's growing tension on Manchester City star Jack Grealish's future.

The England international's role under Pep Guardiola heading into the 2025/26 season is unclear after City made statement signings in his position.

Grealish had an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign, where he suffered from injuries and inconsistent form and now with more competition for places his role at the Etihad Stadium looks bleak.

The 29-year-old has been linked with several clubs throughout the summer, but now rivals Everton have opened talks with his representatives, over a potential loan as per reports via The Athletic's David Ornstein

The Toffees are interested in bringing in fresh attacking options despite distancing themselves from Grealish in July.

However, after failing to land a deal for Southampton's Tyler Dibling, the Toffees have shifted focus back to Grealish.

It's reported Everton boss David Moyes is a big admirer of the England international's profile and sees him as a viable option for the new era at Bramley Moore.

However, even a loan deal for Grealish would be extremely complicated for Everton, as the 29-year-old is one of the highest paid players at City.

Will Jack Grealish move to Everton this summer?

Everton are reportedly speaking with Grealish over a loan deal but all sides will need to compromise.

Grealish has also reportedly turned down the option of moving to foreign clubs, as he's keen to stay in the Premier League, to rejuvenate his career ahead of the FIFA World Cup next year.

There has been interest from Serie A with links to a Kevin De Bruyne reunion at Napoli.

But his preference is to stay in England, and preferably in the north, which makes a move to Everton a more logical decision.

It remains to unclear if Moyes can crack the deal to try and reignite Grealish's ailing career.

He featured in 32 matches last season for City registering three goals and five assists. He played 20 Premier League games but started just seven.
