Liverpool are making waves in the summer transfer market, especially with their purchases. Arne Slot is aiming to bolster his squad to try and win the Premier League a second time in two seasons.

Several big names have come in, with Florian Wirtz headlining the bunch. There have also been notable departures, as Trent Alexander-Arnold joined Real Madrid.

Jarell Quansah became the most recent player to be sold by Liverpool for a fee of around £35m. Quansah is joining Bayer Leverkusen, but there is a buyback clause in the agreement.

Despite having a rough Premier League campaign, former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster thinks that the English giants should have kept Quansah.

What did Foster say about Quansah?

Foster, who played over 300 Premier League games, disagreed with Liverpool's decision to sell Quansah. The former keeper expressed his feelings on his podcast, Fozcast

Foster spoke about England's Under-21 European Championship win, citing Quansah's role in the tournament as a factor Liverpool should have considered in keeping the Englishman.

He said, "In the final, he was brilliant. Honestly, absolutely brilliant. Whenever he had any space in front of him, he would just exploit it.

"With the ball at his feet, he is so happy, so comfortable and he is such a big lad as well. He would just run into the space in front of him which causes absolute mayhem for the opposition."

For a defender, Quansah has been good with the ball at his feet, which is something not all defenders have in common. The youngster has also shown great composure on the ball.

"He was fantastic in the game. I’m thinking, £35m? If I’m Liverpool I almost want to cancel it last second and go ‘You know what, I know you might not play every game this season, but you will definitely play a big chunk of this season for us.’

"I think he’s the future for Liverpool, well he would have been the future for Liverpool. Leverkusen will be buzzing to get him through the door."
