Liverpool travel to Inter Milan in the Champions League with their season thrown into deeper turmoil by Mohamed Salah.
Following Saturday's dramatic 3-3 draw at Elland Road against Leeds United, Salah gave an explosive interview after being left on the bench for the third game in succession by head coach Arne Slot.
The Egypt star claimed he had been "thrown under the bus" by unnamed individuals at the club, that his relationship with Slot had broken down, and hinted this weekend's Premier League home game against Brighton and Hove Albion could be his Anfield farewell as he prepares to head to the Africa Cup of Nations with his national team.
The 2-0 win over West Ham on November 30 - the first game where Salah was dropped - stands as Liverpool's only win in their past six matches across all competitions.
In their previous Champions League outing, they were hammered 4-1 by PSV at Anfield.

Liverpool team news
Despite Mohamed Salah training with his teammates on Monday, he was widely anticipated to be axed from the travelling squad. This news was later confirmed by Liverpool.
Conor Bradley impressed for an hour on his return at Leeds, with Liverpool's collapse coming after the Northern Ireland international was substituted. Nevertheless, Joe Gomez gets the nod at right-back with the accident-prone Ibrahima Konate retained at the heart of defence .
Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo each missed Monday's open training session due to knocks and are not part of the travelling party.
Hugo Ekitike scored a brace at Elland Road and is partnered up front by Alexander Isak, with Dominik Szoboszlai at the tip of a midfield diamond.

Liverpool injury list
Below is the latest injury picture for Liverpool, including estimated return dates for those who are sidelined.
Cody Gakpo
- Injury: Undisclosed
- Expected return date: Late December
Gakpo has been a mainstay of the Liverpool forward line this season but was substituted with 83 minutes remaining at Leeds. This was presumed to be tactical at the time but the Dutch international's absence from the squad for Inter told a different story. At his press conference at San Siro, Slot said his compatriot would be "out for a few weeks".
Wataru Endo
- Injury: Knock
- Expected return date: Unknown
Endo came on for Gakpo at Elland Road as part of Liverpool's unsuccessful bid to close the game out. The Japan international was also a surprise absentee from training prior to the Inter trip.
Federico Chiesa
- Injury: Illness
- Expected return date: Dec 13
Like Salah, Chiesa was an unused substitute against Leeds but has been laid low with illness.
Jeremie Frimpong
- Injury: Hamstring
- Expected return date: December 14
Frimpong suffered the second hamstring injury of his fledgling Liverpool career in Frankfurt. Slot said the former Bayer Leverkusen star is not likely to be back until early December.
Giovanni Leoni
- Injury: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear
- Expected return date: August 2026
Summer signing Leoni suffered a nightmare debut as he horrifically tore an ACL against Southampton. The Italian defender underwent immediate surgery and his campaign has already been cruelly ended.
