Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish believes that Marc Guehi will have a selection of top clubs to choose from next summer, though he strongly suggested that the centre-back will not leave in January.
Guehi, whose contract expires at the end of the season, came very close to a £35m move to Liverpool during the summer transfer window but talks broke down despite the move being all but confirmed.
Parish had publicly admitted that Guehi’s expiring deal might force a sale, but the Eagles ultimately pulled out of the move at the last minute.
Club sources reportedly felt that the financial gain was not worth the potential impact of losing Guehi in the summer, even if it meant letting him leave for free in 2026.
Parish drops new Guehi bombshell
Many top clubs around Europe like Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring Guehi’s situation and weighing up a push to sign him on a free in the summer.

But recent reports have suggested that at least one club could attempt a cut-price January deal to secure the 25-year-old.
Parish, however, appears intent on keeping Guehi at Selhurst Park until the end of the season, suggesting that Palace will not entertain any mid-season offers.
“We needed to keep Marc because the difference between us having a stellar season and having a relegation-threatened season is us winning five games or not,” Parish told Men in Blazers.
“So the margins in the Premier League are very tight and you have to remember that Michael [Olise] has gone, we’re okay, Ebbs [Eberechi Eze] has gone, we’re okay, Wilfred [Zaha] went, we’re okay.
“There’s a limit to how much you can keep doing that before you break down the fabric of the team.”

Bayern Munich were reportedly the first side to make formal contact with Guehi’s representatives about a potential free transfer in 2026, though the England international will want to carefully weigh all options.
Parish acknowledged that while losing Guehi is unfortunately inevitable, he has no regrets about keeping him for now.
“It was a very marginal call,” Parish added. “Marc was great about it as a person.
“Liverpool made the offer. It was a massive club, he was obviously interested in going. But he was fine about it, staying, if that was the decision we made.
“Obviously it means all of the ball is in his court tremendously as a player and he’s got the choice of wherever he wants to go. It was a very difficult one but I think definitely the right one.”
