Enzo Fernandez is one of the most evolved players in the Chelsea squad at the moment.

The Argentine international was dealt a lot of criticism during his early days at Stamford Bridge, but has managed to overcome that and become one of the most integral players in Enzo Maresca’s squad.

The 24-year-old has now established himself as one of the first names on the first names on the teamsheet and is one of the club’s most consistent players at the moment.

While Fernandez has excelled in his position as a box-to-box midfielder, the one area of his game that he can still improve is his goal contributions.

Fernandez has never been a prolific goal scorer, but in recent years, he has developed a habit of arriving late in the box and finding the back of the net.

Encouraged by this newly found habit, a former Premier League striker has made a bold prediction about Fernandez this season.

Troy Deeney makes bold prediction regarding Enzo Fernandez

Last Friday, Fernandez scored his first goal of the season as Chelsea thrashed rivals West Ham 5-1 away from home in the Premier League.

Former Watford striker Troy Deeny was impressed with Fernandez’s performance and made a bold prediction about the number of goals the midfielder will score this season.

Enzo Fernandez

He predicted that Fernandez would score at least 10 goals this season, which would be a personal record for the player.

Deeny told BBC Sport: “Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea): Scored a goal and he’s going to be the one that scores 10-12 goals because he just keeps creeping from midfield. Excellent running, excellent captain’s performance. He was excellent, Chelsea were excellent and when Cole Palmer goes down, he’s the one to take the lead and goes on again.”

Deeny’s prediction for Fernandez could well come true as the midfielder scored nine goals last season, which was a slight improvement on the seven goals he scored in the season before that.
