Chelsea signed a whole host of new players in the summer transfer window in their attempts to make it to the next level.
But according to former Blue, Oscar, one signing in particular has already surpassed the others in terms of becoming the face of the club.
Joao Pedro joined Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer and has gone on to make an instant impact for the club.
The Brazilian has managed five goals and three assists already across competitions for his new team, and Oscar believes that he has cemented his status as the talisman of the club.
However, despite Pedro’s heroics, the Blues find themselves struggling after an average start to the season, having won two, drawn two, and lost two of their six games so far.
Though Pedro has hit the ground running for his new club, they will need more than one player to step up if they are to achieve their objectives this season.

Oscar earmarks Joao Pedro as Chelsea’s new talisman
Oscar thinks that Joao Pedro, who joined from Brighton in the summer, is the new face at Stamford Bridge.
When asked if Pedro is the man to be Chelsea’s number nine, Oscar said on The Obi One Podcast, “I think he is because he’s already there in the Premier League.

“He knows how to score goals. It’s difficult to score goals in the small teams in the Premier League, and he scored a lot of goals for Brighton. Now in Chelsea, every game he is there, he’s scoring goals…”
“He’s strong. He can score with the head and the feet. I like him. I like the way he plays. I think he is the player who is the face of Chelsea. He fights. He has a good personality.”
While Pedro has had a good start to life as a Chelsea player, it might be a bit premature to call him the club’s talisman, especially with the likes of Cole Palmer around.
However, Pedro does have all the necessary attributes to go and become the club’s talisman in the years to come.
