The Chelsea medical staff must be working overtime at the moment as the club’s injury list seems to be growing by the minute.
Now, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that the Blues will be another key player until after the international break this month.
This means that Chelsea will have to cope without the player against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea’s injury list already includes the likes of Cole Palmer, Tosin Adarabioyo, Liam Delap and Dario Essugo.
While Palmer and Essugo are expected back after the international break, there is one more name that has joined them on the treatment table.
Maresca has revealed the identity of the player and the length of time he is expected to be ruled out for.

Chelsea midfielder joins team’s injury list
After Chelsea beat Benfica 1-0 in the Champions League group phase on Tuesday night, Maresca delivered another injury blow.
It turns out that Blues midfielder Andrey Santos, 21, has picked up an injury problem. He started last weekend’s league defeat to Brighton, but was absent from the matchday squad against Benfica due to injury.

Maresca said via Football. London, “We lost from Brighton Andrey Santos, who will be out until after the international break. We have seven, eight players out, unfortunately, for us in this moment.”
Chelsea were warned about the possibility of injuries to their players this season after a busy summer playing in the Club World Cup. Unfortunately, it appears to be catching up with the squad in the early stages of the 2025/26 season.
