Enzo Maresca has been busy leading Chelsea into the semifinals of the Club World Cup

He has also been working behind the scenes to bolster his squad and bring in new signings. Chelsea qualified for the Champions League, and Maresca is doing everything he can to give his team a fighting chance.

That includes bringing in new attackers, as Maresca is aiming to solidify his front line.

With around £140m having been spent already, Chelsea are at risk of not being able to register some new signings for their Champions League List A, unless they can settle the difference in funds.

This could include Liam Delap, João Pedro, Dario Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, and Jamie Gittens.

Chelsea have already been hit with a £27m fine by UEFA for their spending, and the team could face an even bigger issue if their finances aren't on the positive side.

Who could Chelsea sell this summer?

Chelsea will need to sell multiple players to balance their books. Should Chelsea make enough for a profit, the club will be able to register their new signings for the Champions League.

Chelsea have sold Bashir Humphreys, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Marcus Bettinelli for a margin of around £20m. The team still needs to make up the remaining difference.

Noni Madueke is reportedly close to a move to Arsenal, which will provide Chelsea with a big boost.

Christopher Nkunku, João Félix, and Raheem Sterling are all expected to leave the club this summer. Nkunku is said to be valued at around £35.

Djordje Petrovic has also been linked with a move away. The goalkeeper is in talks over a move to Sunderland, with Bournemouth also targeting the keeper.

Chelsea will need to be conscious of any expenses that are still to come if they want to avoid a headache over their Champions League squad.
