Barcelona are already preparing for life after Robert Lewandowski with club president Joan Laporta reportedly determined to secure a world-class striker next summer.

The veteran forward who is now 37 is not expected to be offered a contract extension despite netting 42 goals last season and helping Catalan side win their the 28th La Liga title.

The Spanish giants have now shifted their attention toward finding a successor capable of leading the attack for years to come.

Man City star Erling Haaland has reportedly emerged as the standout name on the shortlist, viewed as the forward who could transform Barcelona’s project.

According to El Nacional, the club president Joan Laporta has identified Erling Haaland as the dream signing for summer 2026.

Reportedly, Laporta believes the team requires a dominant figure inside the penalty area to sustain its European ambitions and Haaland would bring just that.

Manager Hansi Flick and his staff reportedly share that assessment convinced the striker could elevate a system built on vertical wingers such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

Haaland’s ability to occupy defenders and convert crosses would reportedly make him the ideal foil in Barcelona’s attack.

However signing Man City star won't be easy with the Blaugurana's never hidden financial complications and the Etihad based side resistance to sell the Norwegian star.

Nevertheless, Laporta reportedly wants the club prepared if Haaland ever pursues La Liga, believing Barcelona must position themselves first should an opportunity arise.

According to some reports, Atletico Madrid’s forward Julian Alvarez is also being considered by Barcelona’s hierarchy.
