Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has hit back strongly at reports claiming he clashed with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.

The German coach dismissed rumors suggesting he tried to punish the 18-year-old winger for arriving late to a team meeting before the Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Spanish media had reported that Flick wanted to drop Yamal from the starting lineup, but sporting director Deco allegedly stepped in to stop him.

The incident, according to Cadena SER, hinted at tension between the manager and the club’s hierarchy. But Flick was quick to stamp out the story during his press conference, and he didn’t hold back.

“I’d like to know where this comes from; this is garbage,” he said.

“I’m especially grateful that this club, and Deco in particular, believes in our work. They would never ask us to do this. It’s not true; I have nothing to hide. It’s garbage, and if anyone says it, they’re lying.”

Hansi Flick fires back as rumors swirl

The timing of these reports couldn’t have been worse for Barcelona, who are already dealing with mixed results and Yamal’s recent groin injury.

Flick, known for his strict discipline, has reportedly benched players like Jules Kounde and Raphinha for lateness before.

But he insisted Yamal was not being treated differently — and that the entire story had been blown out of proportion.

“For me, what counts is that when he’s here, he puts in the effort and commitment,” Flick said. “And that’s what he does. He had a few days off after working hard, and I don’t interfere in his private life.”

Behind the scenes, however, there’s talk of concern about Yamal’s lifestyle and growing fame.

Some at the club reportedly fear the young winger’s off-field choices could become a distraction, though insiders close to both Flick and Yamal have denied any major issue.

One source even claimed the rumors might be politically motivated to destabilize the club’s leadership.

Yamal’s talent, though, remains undisputed. The teenager has already become a cornerstone of Barcelona’s future, with two goals and four assists in just four La Liga games this season.

His return from injury later this month could be a major boost for Flick’s side — and perhaps the best way to silence all the noise.
