Barcelona are in tricky situation with Inigo Martinez's sudden departure to Saudi Arabia as the 34-year-old decided to join Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.
Inigo was an important player for Hansi Flick last season mainly due to injury concerns to other defenders like Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen.
However, with their return, the veteran Spaniard may have seen his minutes get trimmed down and hence decided to move on to Saudi Pro League.
But as a consequence, Barcelona are slightly shorthanded in defense and may look to sign another defender before the transfer window closes.
According to SPORT, Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard has been offered to the Blaugrana, allowing him a chance to reunite with Flick following their successful seasons at Bayern Munich.
Interestingly, the Catalans were interested in Pavard back in 2023 when they saw Jules Kounde more as a centre-back than right-back and wanted Pavard to fill the other position.

However, the deal didn't materialize back then as the French versatile defender moved to Inter Milan. But now, Barcelona have an opportunity to sign 29-year-old after his agent Pini Zahavi apparently pushing for a move to Camp Nou.
Will Barcelona push for Banjamin Pavard?
Flick is extremely familiar with Pavard due to his prior connection and if the German manager agrees then this could be a good deal for Barcelona.

The France international also fits the profile that Barcelona generally look in defenders with versatility and ball-playing skills being the key components.
Although his current contract at Inter Milan runs until 2028, the 29-year-old could be available to Barcelona for a cut-price of €25m ($29m).
However, despite all the positives around Pavard, Barcelona's financial constraints remain a major headache and hence the hierarchy are not pushing for another major signing this summer.
Also, the Catalans are well covered with Eric Garcia and Kounde, both being versatile and capable of playing in multiple positions in defense.
Barcelona also understand that Pavard's salary won't be easy for them to cover and hence they may stay away from this offer.
The Catalans may sign a young defender instead who could one day step up into the first team and the La Liga champions were previously linked with one such player in Geromino Spina from Atletico Madrid.
It remains to be seen what the Barcelona bosses eventually decide but a move for Pavard looks extremely unlikely despite having multiple advantages in that deal.
