Following the international break, Barcelona have registered a rampant 6-0 win over Valencia as they close the gap between them and arch rivals Real Madrid to only two points in the La Liga points table.
Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez scored individual braces while Marc Casado also had a sensational game, deputizing for Frenkie de Jong in midfield.
The La Masia graduate once again proved his efficiency in midfield as he controlled the game with aplomb after handed a start alongside Pedri in the middle.
The 22-year-old was exceptional in possession and gave a lot of freedom to the likes of Fermin and Raphinha to venture forward with freedom.
As per SPORT, Casado has emerged as a silent leader in this Barcelona squad despite a lot of competition in his position.
The 22-year-old showed great maturity and control and showed calmness at a situation of need giving a lot of assurance to manager Hansi Flick if he needs more options in midfield in the near future.

Casado vows to give his all in limited opportunities to represent Barcelona
Interestingly, Casado was one of the players who were reportedly linked with several moves out of Camp Nou and considering the available players in midfield, a transfer this summer wouldn't have been the worst call for the youngster.

However, he decided to stay at Barcelona and fight for his spot despite knowing that he is not Flick's first choice when he has all the midfield options available at his disposal.
“For me, every game is important. Defending these colours always is, whatever the game,” said Casado, as quoted by SPORT. “I will give my all every chance I get and make the most of every minute on the pitch.
Speaking on Barcelona's triumph over Valencia, Cassado shared, “Today, the team came out with clear ideas. We knew we had to get the three points, and we knew how to shake up the opposition. We’ve been able to play our game and reconnect with the fans this season."
Barcelona will now focus on their Champions League opener against Newcastle United on September 18 at the St James Park. It will be interesting to see if Casado keeps his spot in midfield or not.
