Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is in advanced talks to join FC Porto, The Sporting News understands.

Kiwior, 25, is open to leaving north London this summer in search of regular game time after slipping down the pecking order following the arrival of Cristhian Mosquera.

The Portuguese side have been working on a deal for several weeks and remain optimistic of reaching an agreement with the Gunners.

Negotiations are centred around an initial loan with an obligation to buy, as they look to reinforce their defence ahead of the new season.

Sources close to the player suggest he would prioritise a move abroad, although the recent emergence of Crystal Palace as suitors could complicate the picture.

Palace are exploring defensive reinforcements and have identified Kiwior as a potential target, although they are yet to make a formal bid.

Mikel Areteta's side are believed to be seeking a fee in the region of €30 million (£25.4m/$32.6m) to part ways with the Poland international.

Signed from Spezia in January 2023, Kiwior has shown glimpses of quality in north London but has struggled for regular game time under the Spanish manager.

His ability to operate at centre-back and left-back has been valued by the Arsenal boss, but with competition fierce and the club needing to balance squad numbers, the Gunners are prepared to sanction his departure if their valuation is met.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is attracting fresh interest from Turkey after Trabzonspor added the Belgian to their shortlist as they look to bolster their midfield options.

Lokonga has featured 39 times for Arsenal since arriving from RSC Anderlecht in 2021, with his most recent outing coming back in January 2023.
