As the NHL's trade season arrives, one name is looming particularly large: Artemi Panarin.

The New York Rangers' forward is a clear trade candidate, and the entire hockey world knows it.

It's just a matter of where he may end up.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman listed three possible destinations in a new report on Saturday:

  • Anaheim Ducks
  • Washington Capitals
  • Los Angeles Kings

Friedman also reported that the Rangers are looking for something similar to what the Islanders got a season ago when they traded Brock Nelson to the Colorado Avalanche.

In that deal, the Islanders got a first-round pick, promising prospect Calum Ritchie and a third-round pick.

Panarin is a 34-year old winger with 56 points this season in 51 games, split between 19 goals and 37 assists.

In his NHL career, Panarin has 926 points in 803 games, between 321 goals and 605 assists.

He has played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and, for the last seven seasons, the Rangers.

Soon, it seems Panarin will be somewhere new. It'll just be up to which team puts the best bid in -- and which team Panarin is willing to waive his no-move clause for.
