Blues' trade asking price for Justin Faulk revealed by NHL insider image

The St. Louis Blues are hoping to trade defenseman Justin Faulk before the NHL trade deadline.

They're also hoping to get a haul in return for Faulk.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Blues want a Rasmus Andersson-type return for Faulk.

Andersson was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Vegas Golden Knights for a first-round pick, a conditional second that can become a first, a pro defenseman and a forward prospet.

Faulk has been a reliable player for a long time, but at 33 years old, it may be tough to get quite that much in return.

If the Blues can get even one early-round pick, that's probably a good return.

Faulk is still reliable, but his upside may not be quite as good as Andersson's.

This season, Faulk has played in 51 games. He has 11 goals and 12 assists. He's a minus-6.

Faulk has also blocked 91 shots and dished out 43 hits.

There are still plenty of teams that could use a veteran on the blue line to try and make a playoff push, so it's safe to expect Faulk to be moved.

We'll just have to see if the Blues get what they're seeking.
