Macklin Celebrini is keeping astounding company.

How's a list with Wayne Gretzky, Sidney Crosby and Steve Yzerman sound? That's what the San Jose Sharks' young superstar has just joined.

Sportsnet shared the stat over the weekend. It's in regards to how many points a player gets in the first 16 games of a season while still a teenager.

Gretzky, Crosby and Yzerman hold a tie for that record, with 24 points in 16 games in a season each for them when they were young.

Celebrini has now joined them, putting up 24 points through his first 16 games of the season, too.

So far this season, Celebrini has 10 goals and 14 assists.

As a rookie a season ago, Celebrini maintained almost a point per game pace in his age-18 campaign, going for 25 goals and 38 assists (63 points) in 70 games.

The 2024 No. 1 overall pick has upped his game this time around, and it's safe to expect that he's only going to keep getting better.

Celebrini won't turn 20 until June 13.

The Sharks have a bunch of young talent, and Celebrini will be at the front of any potential turnaround that comes. He's certainly doing his part.

Very few players have ever started a career as well as Celebrini. And the guys that have are some of the greatest players ever.
