Macklin Celebrini is on a level right now that even Wayne Gretzky never reached.

That's how special the San Jose Sharks' rising superstar has been already this season.

No player in NHL history has scored more points as a teenager before Christmas in a single season than Celebrini's 55 this season.

It was done once before, with Sidney Crosby getting that for the Penguins in 2006.

Wayne Gretzky's best was the 51 he did for the Oilers in 1980.

Celebrini has broken his points up into 19 goals and 36 assists.

Last season, he had 63 points in 70 games. This season, it's already 55 in 37 games.

He notched a goal in the Sharks' final game before the holiday break.

Celebrini won't actually turn 20 until June 13, either. So all the stats he puts up the rest of the regular season will be as a teenager still.

There's a reason the Sharks chose Celebrini first overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, and he shows it each and every time he takes the ice.

The future in San Jose is bright, and it starts with the kid wearing No. 71. There have been very few starts to an NHL career like Celebrini's, ever.
