Macklin Celebrini had the puck on his stick in overtime on Tuesday night.
The San Jose Sharks were on a powerplay, too, which gave him just a little bit of extra room to operate.
That was plenty for Celebrini to slot home a game winner and defeat the Utah Mammoth.
In the process, Celebrini joined an exclusive NHL club.
Three players, before this, had recorded 30 points through the first 20 games of a season as a teenager. Wayne Gretzky did it twice. Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux both did it, too.
Celebrini has added his name, according to Sportsnet.
The breakdown for Celebrini is 13 goals and 17 assists through 20 games.
This is the player the Sharks hoped he would be when they chose him No. 1 overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.
But to get to this level, this quickly? It really is reminiscent of the all-time greats.
Lots of things can happen in a player's career. Not every young phenom becomes a long-lasting superstar.
But at the moment, Celebrini is in the kind of company only kept by the very best of the very best.
If he keeps this up, his name will be known all around the hockey world for a long, long time.
