Sidney Crosby just keeps making his mark on the sport of hockey.

The Pittsburgh Penguins legend has now moved up yet another historic record leaderboard in NHL history.

He did it with two assists in Thursday night's win over the New Jersey Devils.

Crosby now has 1,087 career assists, all coming with Pittsburgh, the only team he's ever played for.

He now ranks second in NHL history in assists compiled with a single team.

To move into second, Crosby passed Wayne Gretzky, who had 1,086 assists during his Edmonton Oilers tenure.

The leader on the list? Ray Bourque, who had 1,111 with the Boston Bruins.

Of course, hockey fans will note that Gretzky had an additional 877 assists in his time elsewhere in the NHL. He's the all-time leader in assists at 1,963.

Gretzky's 1,086 assists with the Oilers came in just nine seasons.

So it's not quite apples to oranges here.

But still, Crosby has been a star from the moment he arrived in Pittsburgh and still is now, a couple decades later.
