It's just about time.
This week, we'll learn the Olympic hockey rosters for the much-anticipated 2026 tournament.
There will be surprises and snubs, no-brainers and shockers. And it's all part of the fun for sports fans.
One of the first rosters we're likely to learn is Team Canada.

When is Team Canada releasing its Olympic hockey roster?
The expectation is that Canada will release its Olympic hockey roster at 12 noon ET on Wednesday.
That was shared in The Athletic's daily hockey newsletter on Tuesday.
One key note: Olympic rosters have two more spots than those brought to the 4 Nations Faceoff. That means every team will bring an additional forward and an additional defenseman.
For Canada, one name of intrigue is the 19-year old Macklin Celebrini, who is playing at such a level that it'd be notable if he was left off the team despite his youth.
The rosters themselves have to be formally submitted by the end of Wednesday, Dec. 31, so other teams will likely share their lists, or have them leaked, beginning late Wednesday or into Thursday.
