Bobby Orr is the gold standard for NHL defenseman in a lot of ways. It's hard to equal anything the legendary Orr did on the ice.
On Saturday night, Edmonton Oilers blue liner Evan Bouchard found a way to match Orr.
Bouchard had the game of his life in a 6-5 overtime win over the Washington Capitals.
The defenseman finished with three goals and three assists while firing eight shots on goal.
Prior to Saturday, Orr had been the only defenseman in NHL history to have a game with six points that also included eight shots on goal, according to Sportsnet.
Bouchard has now joined him in what used to be a one-person club.
The 26-year old Bouchard has been known as one of the top attacking defensemen in the NHL for a while, but this was a whole new level of excellence.

The Oilers didn't score without Bouchard being involved in the moment. His goals made the game 1-0, 2-1, and 3-3.
He assisted on Zach Hyman's goal with 32 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and then on Connor McDavid's goal to win it in overtime.
It'd be tough to have a better night at the office than Bouchard, who was only on the ice for one of the Capitals' five goals.
Any time you can join Orr in NHL history, you know it's been a special night.
