Oilers' Connor McDavid joins legend in hockey history with latest goal in stellar NHL career image

Connor McDavid waited, and waited, and waited.

The Edmonton Oilers were on the power play Saturday night, and McDavid got the puck near the right slot and was skating right-to-left across the ice.

His head was on the goal the whole time, and he was waiting for an opening.

By the time he crossed the face of the goal and had reached a spot on the left side of the ice nearly equivalent to where he began on the right, he fired.

Count it.

Goal.

McDavid does it again.

This goal was special, because it timed him with a legend in Oilers history.

That put McDavid at 392 career goals. That's the same number Mark Messier scored for Edmonton.

When McDavid scored the game-winner in overtime, he moved past Messier.

On the season, McDavid has played 53 games, and in them, he has 32 goals and 58 assists for 90 points.

He continues to prove he's the best hockey player on the planet, and you won't find very many who would argue that.
