At long last, the Edmonton Oilers have acquired some goaltending help.
After another offseason seemed to have come and gone without any changes in between the pipes, Stan Bowman has made a last-minute move to strengthen his depth at the position.
The Oilers have acquired netminder Connor Ingram from the Mammoth in exchange for future considerations. Utah will retain $800,000 of Ingram's $1.95 million average annual salary, bringing him down to a $1.15 million cap hit in Edmonton.
Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman was the first to break the news on X (formerly Twitter).
"Connor Ingram is being traded to Edmonton," Friedman wrote.

The 28-year-old is set to enter the final season of the three-year, $5.85 million extension he signed with the Mammoth back in 2023.
Ingram is coming off a difficult 2024-25 campaign, where he went 9-8-4 with a 3.27 goals-against average and a .882 save percentage in just 22 starts.
Thoughts on the trade
While Connor Ingram may not be the flashiest acquisition, it's a much-needed move for the Edmonton Oilers at almost no cost.
Ingram and the Mammoth had been working on finding him a fresh start in recent weeks, and he now gets that opportunity to join a potential cup contender in Edmonton, where there is a path for him to see some decent action.
The former third-round pick (88th overall) of the Lightning back in 2016 will begin with the AHL Bakersfield Condors upon arriving. Once Ingram gets his bearings under him and proves that he's deserving, he should get the call-up to the big club sooner rather than later.
Last season was not pretty for Ingram, who entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program in March. However, he exited the program in August and appears to be ready to make a return to the level of play he showed during a strong 2023-24 campaign with the Arizona Coyotes.
This was a no-brainer of a deal to make for the Edmonton Oilers, with little risk and the potential for some decent reward if Connor Ingram can give them impactful starts.
