Stars' Jason Robertson breaks silence on shocking Olympic roster snub from Team USA image

The biggest noise that came out of the U.S. Olympic men's hockey roster reveal was for a player who didn't make the team.

Dallas Stars star Jason Robertson was left off the roster, and fans couldn't figure it out.

This NHL season, no American player has scored more points than Robertson. Not any of the guys on the roster are having as prolific a scoring season as he is.

He was left off, anyway, somehow viewed as not multi-dimensional enough to make the team.

It felt immediately like a mistake, and social media was quick to point it out.

A day after the roster release, Robertson spoke with reporters on Saturday about it.

“I thought that this year was different from last year," Robertson said. "Obviously last year I didn’t think I was good enough. Now I think I did and it’s their choice, their decision. It hurts your ego, but I’m not going to change the way I play.”

Robertson wasn't a part of the 4 Nations Faceoff roster, but he's only improved his game since then.

The United States opted for grit and grind over one of the most natural scorers in its player pool.

Hockey fans will have to wait for the Olympics to get underway to see if this is a major mistake.

For now, all Robertson can do is stay true to himself and try to help the Stars.
