The Dallas Stars are set to host the Islanders, with history favoring the Stars

Although the Islanders lead the all-time series 55-48-21, Dallas has controlled the matchup in recent years. The Stars have earned points in nine of their last 10 meetings vs. New York (6-1-3), including seven straight games with at least one point (5-0-2). Since the 2017-18 season, Dallas’.750 point percentage against the Islanders ranks third in the NHL.

Wyatt Johnston has quietly produced against New York with a three-game point streak (0-3—3), while Sam Steel enters with points in two straight contests vs. The Islanders. Steel has posted five points (2-3—5) and a +3 rating in nine career games against New York.

Jason Robertson enters the matchup as the NHL’s First Star of the Week after a massive stretch of scoring. He led the league last week with six goals and nine points in three games, including a hat trick on Nov. 15 against Philadelphia — the sixth of his career.

Robertson has delivered three straight three-point games for the first time in his career and now sits at 23 points (9-14—23) in 19 games, second on the team. Against New York, he has six goals in eight career matchups, including a hat trick in his last outing vs. The Islanders on Feb. 23, 2025.

Bo Horvat leads the Islanders into Dallas on a hot streak, registering seven points (3-4—7) in his last five games. He paces New York in goals (12), points (23), plus-minus (+11), game-winners (3), and shots (65). Among all NHL skaters entering Monday, Horvat ranks tied for third in goals and third in faceoff wins (213).

Horvat has also performed well against the Stars, tallying 15 points (8-7—15) in 22 career games — including nine points in his last eight matchups dating back to 2019.

Tuesday marks the first of the two-game season series. The Stars and Islanders will meet again later in March at UBS Arena.
