Seth Jarvis injury update: Hurricanes' forward hurt by own teammate's high stick to eye image

The Carolina Hurricanes had to deal with a scary moment during the first period on Friday night.

Forward Seth Jarvis was working behind the net, but teammate Andrei Svechnikov's stick went high.

It caught Jarvis in or near the eye.

The Hurricanes announced by the end of the first period that Jarvis would not return due to his injury.

As is custom, Carolina just announced it as an upper-body injury.

Hurricanes fans are all just hoping for the best for Jarvis.

He's been really good so far in his age-23 season. He entered the night with 10 goals and five assists through 16 games.

The Canadian forward is a big part of Carolina's future, but for now, 'Canes fans are holding their breaths for this one.
