No one can stop the Buffalo Sabres right now.
It doesn't even seem like their recent years of incompetence can get in the way of what is a historic run on the ice.
With a 7-4 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night, the Sabres improved to 19-3-1 in their last 23 games.
They've never had a run of 23 games better than that.

When this run started, the Sabres were well outside of the playoff picture.
Now, they're third in the Atlantic Division with 65 points, which is the fourth-most points in the Eastern Conference overall.
The Sabres have the longest playoff drought across the NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL. They've missed 14 seasons in a row.
Right now, though, they're trending toward finally snapping that skid.

Buffalo hockey fans have waited a long time for this. Right now, it almost seems too good to be true, but it most certainly is real, and tangible, and quite the run.
