The Washington Commanders are banged-up at wide receiver thanks to injuries to Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel and Noah Brown.
However, the arrow appears to be pointing up, at least for McLaurin and Samuel, who were both spotted at practice on Thursday after being listed on this week's injury report.
McLaurin, who sat out last week's game with his quadriceps injury, was out on the field stretching with the team on Thursday, which marks the first time he has been with the Commanders at practice since his injury, according to ESPN's John Keim.
That said, McLaurin was working off to the side, as was Brown, so it remains to be seen if they'll log any official participation. We'll know more when the injury report comes out later in the day, but at the very least both appear to be making progress.
Samuel, who is dealing with a heel injury and did not practice on Wednesday, was back in action for Washington, according to The Washington Post's Tashan Reed, which puts him on track to play. It isn't yet clear if Samuel will be full or limited, though.
Head coach Dan Quinn called McLaurin "week-to-week" last week, which implies he could miss another game. That will probably happen if McLaurin registers another "DNP" at practice on Thursday.
Assuming McLaurin doesn't suit up, Samuel will once again take the reins as the No. 1 wideout for Washington. Washington would also be forced to lean more on Chris Moore, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane once again.
The good news is, the Commanders will be welcoming back quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been medically cleared to play on Sunday.
