The Washington Commanders have an injury concern with quarterback Marcus Mariota in the Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Mariota got banged-up in the third quarter. He stayed down on one knee after a play and was clearly shaken-up.
If Mariota can't return, veteran quarterback Josh Johnson will take the reins of the offense. Jayden Daniels is not available after being shut down for the season. The Commanders do not have a third quarterback available after Mariota and Johnson.
Follow our tracker below for the latest updates on Mariota's status for the rest of the game against Philly.
Marcus Mariota injury update
UPDATE: The Commanders are back on offense and Johnson is still in the game, so it looks like Mariota isn't returning. The team has not confirmed that, though.
UPDATE: Mariota is now out of the locker room and back on the sideline, but he still has his right hand wrapped and hasn't grabbed his helmet. Not a good sign for his chances of returning.
UPDATE: Mariota was evaluated for a concussion, but was cleared. However, the Commanders also revealed he is dealing with a right hand injury and is now questionable to return.
UPDATE: Mariota is now heading to the locker room, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. That is a bad sign for his chances of returning to the game.
ESPN's John Keim adds that Mariota had his throwing hand wrapped in a towel, so that appears to be his injury.
Still no update from the team, though.
END OF UPDATE
Mariota is headed to the medical tent to get checked out. It remains unclear exactly what he's dealing with.
We'll update this page once more information is available.
