The Washington Commanders are hoping to get quarterback Jayden Daniels back for the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Daniels is recovering from a knee sprain he suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers, and the injury forced him to sit out last week. Thankfully, Washington didn't have any issues beating the Las Vegas Raiders without him.
In what was a good sign for his Week 4 status, Daniels managed to return to practice on Wednesday after sitting out all of last week.
However, his participation did not change on Thursday, according to Tashan Reed of The Washington Post, which leaves his status up in the air.
"Daniels is still limited today," Reed wrote.
When asked about his status for the game against the Falcons, Daniels said the decision on whether or not he plays is up to the medical staff.
“It’s up to the doctors,” Daniels said. “It’s not my decision.”
If Daniels is unable to suit up once again on Sunday, Marcus Mariota will take the reins for another game.
Mariota played well in his first start with the Commanders, completing 15-of-21 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown while adding 40 rushing yards and one score on the ground.
Daniels isn't the only concern on offense the Commanders have on the injury report this week.
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin did not practice once again on Thursday because of his quad issue, and one of the Commanders' top depth options at the position, fellow wideout Noah Brown, remains uncertain to play, also.
The Commanders will release their final injury report of the week on Friday, complete with injury designations.
