Jayden Daniels isn't particularly having fun.

The Washington Commanders aren't going to the playoffs, and Daniels won't play the rest of this season.

Head coach Dan Quinn announced Monday that Daniels is going to be sat out the rest of the season as a precautionary decision.

On Tuesday, Daniels weighed in.

“I don't want to miss games at all," Daniels told reporters. "I've been frustrated this whole season missing games. I want to be out there to help my teammates as much possible. It's been a frustrating year.”

Daniels missed games early in the year with a knee injury, then more recently, with a dislocated left elbow.

All told, Daniels has appeared in seven games. He completed 60.6% of his passes (down from 69.0% last year) for 1,262 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

Daniels also ran 58 times for 278 yards and two more scores, 4.8 yards per carry down from 6.0 as a rookie.

The clear Rookie of the Year could never really get himself off the ground in year two.

Marcus Mariota (with backup Josh Johnson) will take the Commanders limping to the finish line.

Daniels will have to figure out how to reset and be better in his third season. The Commanders will aim for a total bounceback in 2026 after a year that no one can be happy with.
