The Washington Commanders appear to be making a switch at the running back position in the Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions.
Rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt has typically served as the No. 1 running back in the absence of Austin Ekeler, who suffered a torn Achilles and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
However, it's Chris Rodriguez getting the nod early on in Week 10 versus the Lions, which has kept JCM on the bench.
Is Jacory Croskey-Merritt playing today?
UPDATE: Bill gets his first touch on the Commanders' third drive. It was a carry that went for six yards.
Yes, Bill is in the lineup and active, he just hasn't seen the field yet.
It's pretty clear the Commanders are switching things up a bit this week, as Rodriguez has served as the lead back early on, and Jeremy McNichols is rotating in as the second back.
During the week, head coach Dan Quinn hinted was very complimentary of Rodriguez, which was a sign he might get more work this week.
Whatever the case may be, this is not a good sign for Croskey-Merritt's chances of producing in Week 10.
