The Washington Commanders may not have the services of their top wide receiver, Terry McLaurin, in Week 4.
McLaurin suffered a quadriceps injury in the Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders that forced his early exit from the contest. Unfortunately, it appears to be serious enough that McLaurin is in danger of sitting out this week.
That nugget comes from ESPN's Adam Schefter, who noted that McLaurin is still "seeking more information."
"Washington WR Terry McLaurin is uncertain to play Sunday vs. Atlanta due to his quad injury, per source. He still is seeking more information about the injury," he reported.
Of course, the McLaurin injury isn't the only significant concern the Commanders have on that side of the ball. Quarterback Jayden Daniels is also uncertain to play after sitting out last week due to a knee injury.
If McLaurin can't play, Deebo Samuel becomes the No. 1 target in the passing attack. Many thought Samuel might be washed after a few lackluster season in a row, but the veteran has looked good early on in Washington.
Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore could get more run with McLaurin sidelined, and the same can be said for Noah Brown, although he isn't certain to play, either, after sitting out last week.
If Daniels is forced to sit out again, Marcus Mariota will get another start. Mariota had a solid showing in Week 3 after he tallied 207 passing yards, 40 rushing yards and two total touchdowns (one rushing, one passing).
The Commanders will release their first injury report of the week on Wednesday, so we'll have a better idea of where Daniels and McLaurin stand then.
