The spotlight has arrived quickly.

Jacory 'Bill' Croskey-Merritt and the Washington Commanders will open Week 2 on Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers. His placement on the RB depth chart hasn't changed, but that shouldn't matter for your fantasy football start-sit decisions.

Austin Ekeler remains the No. 1 back on paper. Croskey-Merritt, after being RB4 on the initial depth chart, is the de facto No. 2 RB. Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. slot behind them.

Croskey-Merritt is coming off 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, an outing that included four runs of at least 10 yards in addition to the TD.

If you drafted near the start of the season, you likely had to reach a bit to get JCM. Now, that means it might be time to start him if you didn't in Week 1.

Should I start Jacory 'Bill' Croskey-Merritt in fantasy Week 2?

The answer is yes, you should start Croskey-Merritt in Week 2 vs. the Packers.

That's what The Sporting News' Vinnie Iyer writes in his weekly Start 'Em, Sit 'Em column.

"'Bill' will remain a big running game factor on the road, too," Iyer writes.

Iyer slots JCM as his No. 27 RB for the week, ahead of Javonte Williams, J.K. Dobbins and Rhamondre Stevenson, among others.

Just one quick reminder: If you're starting Croskey-Merritt, put him in an RB slot. He'll lock first, so by having him there and not in your FLEX, you maintain flexibility (pun intended) heading into the weekend.
