Commanders make Jayden Daniels injury announcement ahead of Week 5 vs. Chargers image

The Washington Commanders have provided an injury update on quarterback Jayden Daniels ahead of the Week 5 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to head coach Dan Quinn, Daniels has been medically cleared from his knee sprain and will practice in full on Wednesday.

"Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels has been medically cleared and will practice in full today," Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reported.

Daniels had missed the last two games with his knee issue. There was added concern after he sat out the last practice of Week 4, which was a downgrade from his previous participation. However, clearly it was just a rest day for the young star.

The Commanders were able to get by with Marcus Mariota in Week 3, but the team fell to 2-2 on the season after dropping the Week 4 contest against the Atlanta Falcons, which was a result of a poor defensive performance.

Getting Daniels back provides a massive boost for Washington, although he'll likely be operating without the services of No. 1 wideout Terry McLaurin, who sat out last week with a quadriceps injury and is considered week-to-week.

Daniels may also be without fellow veteran wideout Noah Brown, who has not played or practice in each of the last two weeks.

If he sits out, it'll be a heavy dose of Deebo Samuel, with guys like Chris Moore, Jaylin Lane and Luke McCaffrey also mixing in.
