The Washington Commanders have an intriguing situation on their hands.
What are they going to do at running back?
They traded Brian Robinson Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers in late August, freeing up some opportunity.
Expected to take at least some of that is Austin Ekeler, the veteran and former Chargers star.
But besides Ekeler, there's the fascinating seventh-round rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who goes by Bill.

JCM was listed RB4 on the Commanders' depth chart this week, although that probably doesn't have a ton of meaning. But it does put the names of Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez into the picture, too.
ESPN's Matt Bowen likes Croskey-Merritt, which he shared in a recent article:
"I want to see how the backfield rotation with Austin Ekeler plays out," Bowen wrote. "Croskey-Merritt has a running style that fits on Sundays in the league."

The Commanders could have a special team this season.
Jayden Daniels enters his second season in the league after a Rookie of the Year campaign. His top wideout, Terry McLaurin, got paid, and they added Deebo Samuel to bring some additional offensive explosiveness from the receiver position.
But the Commanders need to have the running back position figured out.
If JCM can be the answer, it'll go a long way in helping Washington reach their potential in the 2025 NFL season.
