"It's just fun being out on the field again."
This was part of the response Xavier Restrepo gave when he was asked about how it felt to be on the field again. Many fans have been clamoring for the undrafted rookie out of the University of Miami to get a chance to contribute on the field. And with Calvin Ridley going down for the season with a broken fibula and Elic Ayomanor injured with a hamstring issue, Restrepo was called up from the practice squad.
Restrepo's statistics for Sunday's game versus the Seattle Seahawks: 2 receptions for 26 yards on six targets. His first reception reminded many of the magic he and Ward had in college at Miami:

All in all, not a bad debut for Restrepo, but as he was asked about his first catch, there was one that he remembered that he did not catch:
"I was supposed to have that one in the endzone. I was kind of pissed off about that if I'm going to be honest."
That potential catch was close to being brought in by Restrepo, but when Restrepo went up to try and catch the ball, he just could not bring it in over the Seahawks defender.
But along with speaking on the missed first opportunity and his excitement, he dove into talking about Cam Ward:
"Cam let me know that he was going to come back to me. That's why he is not only a great quarterback but a great leader."

Restrepo and Ward obviously have chemistry. It was evident on the first catch of the game for Xavier. But what is also apparent is the respect he has for Ward and all he can do.
Overall, Restrepo was solid when given opportunities, and it will be interesting to see how much or how little of a chance he will be given to contribute going forward. But what we do know is that fans finally got what they wanted to see with Restrepo finally getting on the field. And for Restrepo, his hard work allowed him to create this opportunity for himself on Sunday.
