The Tennessee Titans are primed to be sellers at the trade deadline.
At 1-5, the Titans are going nowhere and have already fired head coach Brian Callahan after a disastrous season-plus on the job.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler confirms that the Titans are likely to be sellers at the trade deadline, as the team wants to add more draft capital for their rebuild.
"The Titans were already poised to be active at the trade deadline, and the Callahan firing only expedites that process," Fowler reported. "The team currently has seven picks in the 2026 draft and would like to add more."
As far as who the Titans could part ways with, Fowler speculates that cornerback Roger McCreary, edge rusher Arden Key and tight end Chig Okonkwo could be moved.
"Pass rusher Arden Key, cornerback Roger McCreary and tight end Chig Okonkwo are among players on my radar," Fowler said. "There could be more. But those three are 2026 free agents and do not appear in the long-term vision of the franchise."
You're going to hear a lot of buzz about the Titans possibly moving Jeffery Simmons, but Fowler doesn't see that happening.
"And the plan right now is to keep defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons," Fowler wrote. "He's unquestionably the Titans' best player and turns 28 in July."
One thing all three of those players have in common is they are in the final year of their contracts.
The least likely to be moved is McCreary, who is still just 25 years old and has shown he is a capable starter in the NFL.
However, McCreary is also in the midst of a down year, with the former second-round pick giving up a completion rate of 82.6% and a passer rating of 107.8.
Okonkwo has been a major disappointment since being drafted in the fourth round in 2022, but he does have an impressive skill set that could be unleashed in a better situation, which will no doubt intrigue some teams.
Teams looking for a low-cost option at edge rusher will almost certainly inquire about Key, who has tallied 12.5 sacks combined the past two seasons. Key has posted 1.5 sacks through five games in 2025.
