The Tennessee Titans' head coach search has officially begun.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Tennessee has requested to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for its head-coach vacancy.

"Sources: The Titans have requested to interview Chiefs OC Matt Nagy for their vacant HC position," Schultz reported.

There have been no shortage of rumors pointing to the Titans' interest in Nagy, and that comes as no surprise.

After all, Nagy has a connection with Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi from his days with the Chiefs.

Hiring an offensive-minded coach also makes sense for Tennessee considering the need to develop 2025 No. 1 overall pick and quarterback, Cam Ward.

A former Coach of the Year in 2018, Nagy led the Chicago Bears to a 34-31 record over four seasons as head coach before getting canned.

That aforementioned award came in Nagy's first season, when the Bears went 12-4, but it was all downhill after that and Nagy finished his tenure in Chicago by going 22-27 over the final three seasons.

Since then, Nagy has served as the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, returning to the team after initially serving as its offensive coordinator in 2017 before going to Chicago.

Nagy is one of many candidates the Titans will interview throughout the process, but he's no doubt someone we'd consider near or at the top of the list of possible hires.
