The Tennessee Titans' offensive line had a rough outing in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward was under constant pressure and sacked six times. Veteran left tackle Dan Moore was under a lot of scrutiny for his performance in particular, but Ward came to the defense of his offensive line when asked about it on Thursday.
“Nobody's gonna be perfect," Ward said. "I want y’all to get up there and try to block one of them big boys on the D-line. It ain’t that easy. Me and the O-line, we're good."
Ward added that he needs to be better at avoiding sacks.
"I take full responsibility."
Ward and the Titans still had a chance to win the game, despite the offensive line dysfunction against one of the top defenses in the NFL. The challenges won't be any easier in Week 2, as Tennessee will host the Los Angeles Rams, who have one of the top defensive lines in the NFL and just held C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans to nine points.
