On Sunday, Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward openly vented his frustration following the team's 26-0 shutout loss to the Houston Texans. During Monday's media session, Titans coach Brian Callahan offered his perspective on the emotional remarks from the 2025 draft's No. 1 pick.
"If we keep it a buck right now, we a*s," Ward said. "We own for it. At this point, we got nothing to lose. We dropped a quarter of our f***ing games and we've yet to do anything. So we have to lock in."
Brian Callahan responds with support, explains Cam Ward's emotional approach
On Monday, Callahan said, "I think what everyone is learning about Cam is that he cares a tremendous amount. It's really important to him. He wants to win football games. He wants to deliver winning performances for our organization, for our fans. That's what he cares about."
He added that Ward shows his emotions openly, which is part of his competitive nature and desire to play well. Callahan said he understands why Ward reacts passionately in those moments.
"It's because he wants nothing more than to play well and win," Callahan said.
Cam Ward has displayed glimpses of his potential in all four games. However, the surrounding offense has struggled. For a rookie thrust directly into the battlefield to succeed, a solid supporting cast is essential. The Titans currently lack that.
Ward has been sacked 17 times through four games. This just raises serious concerns.
