Will Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving play in Week 12? Latest injury update on Bucs stars image

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need reinforcements now more than ever after their 44-32 loss to the Buffalo Bills, which now puts Todd Bowles' team just half a game ahead of the second-placed Carolina Panthers in the NFC South.

With Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving, the two key offensive pieces fans want back, the pair have been missing for the past few weeks, but there are signs the duo is ramping up their efforts to return to the field.

Will that be this week as the Buccaneers take on the Los Angeles Rams?

Head coach Todd Bowles offered an update on Monday.

“They'll get worked in more,” Bowles said. “They'll get worked in more, get more reps, and then we'll kind of evaluate them as the week goes on. But they'll definitely get worked in.”

Buccaneers need to halt playoff slide

After being 5-1 and seemingly on their way to another division title and even the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Tampa Bay now finds itself at 6-4, and in danger of losing first place in the division.

Given how quickly the lead has evaporated, the Buccaneers need Godwin and Irving to return as soon as possible to help ease the offensive workload on Baker Mayfield and his receivers.

Having lost three out of their last four games, it is a worrying skid for the Buccaneers and one that they must stop if they are to claim another division title and put themselves in the best position for a deep playoff run.

Irving and Godwin will be ramped up this week in practice, but as far as playing in Week 12?

Let's see how the rest of the week plays out.
