It felt like in the early stages after Desmond Watson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in undrafted free agency, everything he did earned a bit of news.
But as it turns out, his most recent development didn't.
The football world had mostly moved on from the player who at one point weighed 464 pounds for Florida.
A niche group of fans still wants to know what he's up to, though.

What happened to Desmond Watson?
Earlier in November, Watson was released from the Buccaneers practice squad.
He's currently a free agent.
Watson signed to the Bucs' practice squad before Week 4 but never got a regular season appearance.
“That was the longest I’ve had without practicing against people since I was like 7 years old,” Watson said about his release at the end of training camp through that signing. “That was tough. It was definitely an adjustment, but it feels great to practice now. I feel blessed to be able to help this organization any way possible, so getting back into it, it feels great.”

Watson didn't reveal his new weight at the time, but the implication was that he had gotten in better shape.
“I’m proud of it,” Watson said. “It’s a good number – obviously good enough to be signed back. I don’t want to say a specific number, but it’s been enough to obviously get signed back. I’m blessed.”
It's not clear what made the Bucs release Watson, but right now, no one else has given him a chance yet.
